About Elsy

Elsy advises and represents individuals in various aspects of employment matters, including dismissal claims, negotiation of severance agreements, disability claims, restrictive covenants, sexual harassment and discrimination.  Also Elsy represents clients in commercial law, corporate disputes, and intentional tort in professional practice.

After several years of private practice in different Canadian jurisdictions, Elsy became in-house counsel for the Alberta’s largest regulatory electricity transmission company in Alberta, and General Counsel for a private equity firm to then return to private practice.

Elsy’s knowledge and experience have been used to benefit her clients in various industries and sectors, including lender, private, professionals and regulatory services.  Elsy has appeared in all levels of Alberta and Manitoba courts, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Court in British Columbia.

Elsy has been teaching students in various universities across Canada for many years.  She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and an executive member of the Business Section (South) of the CBA. Elsy is President of the AJEFA.

Elsy is admitted to the Law Society of Alberta and has also been called to other Canadian Bars. Elsy is trained as a negotiator from Karrass and mediator from ADR Institute of Canada.  Elsy is also a collaboratively trained lawyer focused to provide clients alternative ways other than litigation to resolve civil litigation matters.

Elsy is fluent in both English and French.  Elsy has a keen interest for issues relating to women’s rights and constitutional minority language rights.
